And while most MSPs are accustomed to the churn, nowadays it’s different. Businesses are digitising their assets and moving to the cloud, governments continue to layer on more data regulations, security threats are on the rise, and the pandemic has turned traditional office culture on its head and while there are a lot of changes and challenges there are also opportunities.

The Renaissance Cyber Academy

Renaissance has created the “Renaissance Cyber Academy” to help managed service providers (MSPs) transform their business by; identifying areas for improvement, enhancing their cybersecurity skills and knowledge and supporting them in growing their business in all aspects regardless of the stage that they are at.  

Our speakers will discuss the Renaissance Cyber Academy and provide an insight into the different Business Management, Sales, Marketing and Strategic Operations courses that are available free of charge via CompTIA.

David McCullough, Chief Commercial Officer, Xsell

David has an extensive 35-year background in the IT industry, holding several sales leadership roles within managed services providers, before co-founding Xsell in 2013.

As Xsell’s Chief Commercial Officer, David leverages the Xseller8 platform and Digital Marketing Services to enhance B2B lead generation, specifically for businesses with IT and Software ecosystems.  His commitment to generating sustainable growth and his strategic marketing approach have significantly contributed to his client’s success across global markets.

David’s expertise extends to LinkedIn training and public speaking, where he regularly shares insights on leveraging social selling strategies.

Gary Melvin - Security & Compliance Director - Nostra

Gary Melvin commenced his journey with Nostra in 2020 following the acquisition of Brandon Consultancy, where he spent over two decades specializing in IT security and strategy for financial services.  

At Nostra, Gary leads the Security & Compliance team, offering invaluable guidance to financial institutions. He holds a Master’s in Applied Cyber Security from the Technical University Dublin and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UCG. Gary’s technical expertise includes project management, security strategy, compliance frameworks, and network architecture, bringing over 20 years of IT industry experience. His dedication to technological excellence has made him a leader in the field, shaping IT security and compliance practices globally. 

Tracy Pound – Chair of the Board of Directors, CompTIA

With over 38 years’ experience in the IT industry, Tracy has set up and runs 3 businesses – 2 in technology and 1 insurance brokerage. She has been part of various government initiatives to help businesses grow, including an ERDF funded project to develop a standard to support SME IT businesses. She is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, a member of the Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting and a qualified PRINCE 2 practitioner.  

Tracy is also Chair of the Board of Directors for CompTIA, an Advisory Board member for Channel Futures and a member of the CompTIA Education Faculty where she delivers Managing The Channel training to CompTIA members, as well as delivering CompTIA member content at Channel events across Europe. 

John Byrne - Founder, Your Success Coach

John is committed to providing the best possible communication skills and sales training available today along with sales technology platforms that help companies reach their sales targets consistently. 

John is a passionate Business Coach with a particular interest in Communications Skills and Sales Training. As a business coach and strategist, he helps executives and professionals to make breakthroughs that take them to the next level. In addition to that, John has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur owning and running a business. 

His work experience in Sales and Business Development in multinational and national sales organisations and entrepreneurship have given him the breadth of knowledge needed to pursue his passion for coaching executives and professionals. While working in the technology industry, he sold and negotiated high-profile contracts for a technology multinational for major national projects. 

Moreover, by running his own business and negotiating many multi-year services contracts, John gained a more thorough understanding of liaising with stakeholders and decision-makers. For the past 17 years, he has continuously sold and negotiated services in the Irish market to various sectors. His invaluable experience and his unique training methods mean John actively helps teams maximise their potential. 

He holds a Professional Practice Certificate in Training and Development from the Irish Institute of Training and Development. A Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard BOK (The Derek Bok Centre for Teaching and Learning), a green belt in Lean Six Sigma from University College Cork, and a certified Life Coach. He combines his work as an entrepreneur, business coach, and a weekend radio presenter at Limerick City Community Radio to create a unique teaching style and memorable learning experiences.
