Cyber Expo Roadshows 2019
Renaissance is excited to be bringing the popular Cyber Expo Ireland back to Cork, Limerick, and Belfast in a roadshow taking place over three days from Tuesday 30th of April to Thursday 2nd of May. These roadshow events will allow professionals from around Ireland to interact with key global organisations in cybersecurity and will provide a taster for the full national Cyber Expo event that will once again return to the IMI Conference Centre Dublin in November 2019.
Who Should Attend?
Each regional event will take half a day (08:00 to 13:00) and are open to business and IT professionals who are looking for advice and guidance on the latest cyber threats, as well as being open to security solution vendors and resellers. The events provide the perfect opportunity for business users to meet and form relationships with peers plus IT and compliance experts who can help them secure their data against current and emerging threats. No matter the size of your organisation there will be security experts available at each roadshow who you can call on for advice on the day, and also in the future.
The Focus of the Roadshows
The IT security landscape is continuously changing. Every day new attacks on networks and applications appear, as do the continuing existing attacks. Organisations must be aware of the risks so that they can understand their responsibilities and put appropriate security and safeguards in place. The Cyber Expo roadshows will focus on four key areas.
Defend Against Ransomware
Ransomware attacks that make IT systems unusable unless a fee is paid are on the rise. They target organisations of all sizes, and the payment demand is usually adjusted to match. It is vital that you know how to counter the threat before it happens, and how to respond if your security defences are breached. Experts at the roadshow can advise you on both.
Protect Against Cyber Crime
Other forms of cybercrime beyond ransomware are also on the rise. From sophisticated denial of service attacks, through elaborate social engineering based phishing attacks, to blunt ‘protection’ rackets. You need to be aware of all these threats and how to counter them.
Understand and Simplify GDPR Compliance
GDPR is now well established, and any organisations operating within the EU need to understand how it affects them and how they can prevent loss of sensitive data. Breaches under GDPR present both financial and reputational risks to an organisation. Experts at the roadshow can provide the advice you need to ensure compliance.
Baseline Your Data Security
IT business systems are complex and getting more so over time. Staying knowledgeable with all the security and regulatory issues related to modern systems is challenging. There are many security solutions available, and the advice about which to use is sometimes difficult to understand, and in extreme cases contradictory when comparing options. The vendors, resellers, and other business users at the roadshow will be able to help you baseline your needs, and help you choose tried and tested solutions to protect your organisation.
Who will be there?
In addition to the Renaissance team, there will be many security vendors and resellers at each roadshow. Including, in no particular order, experts from:
- ICT Skillnet
