CYBER EXPO IRELAND 2018 – A GREAT SUCCESS!
Throughout 2018, the IT and Cyber Security industries have witnessed impressive highs, as well as worrying lows, but security & privacy issues remain a top concern.
The ever-increasing reports of cyber-attacks and data breaches as well as the introduction of enhanced regulations such as GDPR and PSD2 sparked huge interest in understanding the practical solutions available to help prevent or recover from cyber-attacks.
Renaissance responded to this increased customer demand and designed Cyber Expo Ireland with the goal of bringing bringing together the whole Cyber Security Ecosystem, with a key theme being “shared community insights” where leaders within the IT Ecosystem could come together under one roof and discuss how to best tackle pressing security issues.
Following the success and popularity of last year’s event, the 2nd annual Cyber Expo Ireland took place at the Irish Management Institute (IMI), Dublin, on Wednesday 28th November and notwithstanding Storm Diana, there was a great turn out and we are delighted at the success of the day.
This year’s expo seen an even bigger line-up featuring;
- 25+ world class Vendors who demonstrated some of the latest global Cyber Security software available on the market, which provided a real sense of how the technology has advanced to keep one step ahead of the rapidly growing Cyber Crime Industry.
- This year also saw a real increase in engagement from Value Added Resellers (VARs) as 13 VARs were on hand to advise how best to integrate these new technologies into existing customer infrastructures.
- 6 Security Experts were also in attendance who hosted the popular “Cyber Security Express Talks” and discussed various challenges within the IT Security Ecosystem such as The Identity Challenge, The Forensic Recovery and Responding to cyber-attacks. There was a great turn out at each talk and our experts provided some great insights on how to best tackle these issues.
Cybercrime now affects everyone; people, networks and businesses are being attacked on a regular basis and this was evident in the demographics of people who attended the expo representing Ireland’s Enterprises from both the private and public sectors.
We would like to extend our sincere thank-you to everyone who made the event a great success; the Vendors, Resellers, Security Experts, End Users and the Sunday Business Post.
We have spent time listening and engaging with business leaders across Ireland to make sure we designed an Expo that covered the key topics and challenges that companies are facing daily. The positive feedback received from all our Cyber Expo Events to date, including our April Roadshows, makes the months of preparation and hard work that goes into pulling an event of this magnitude together totally worthwhile.
Our goal now is to start planning for next year to execute an even bigger and better Cyber Expo Ireland events in 2019, make sure to keep up to date with us on LinkedIn and Twitter for regular updates.
