Cyber Expo/ Conference Ireland 2020: The Subscription Economy Stream
Now in its fourth year, the Renaissance Cyber Expo & Conference is established as one of the premier events for IT decision-makers to meet industry experts, and discuss the latest trends and solutions across the cybersecurity landscape. Like other recent events, the 2020 Cyber Expo & Conference will be virtual rather than in-person. It runs from 9 am to 4.30 pm on Tuesday the 24th of November 2020 and will build on the experience gained from hosting the successful and well-received virtual Cyber Series events last May. The annual Cyber Expo & Conference event will deliver information that is relevant to executives, IT managers, and other decision-makers across all organisations. Details of the conference agenda and how to sign up are available on the Cyber Expo & Conference website and outlined briefly below.
Conference and Expo Structure and Agenda
The virtual event has been arranged into four separate tracks spread over one Auditorium track and three conferences. The conference tracks are further split into three sessions, with one for each of the nine streams that are the focus of the conference. The nine streams are as follows: Always On Computing - Application Security - Business Email Compromise - I Am Who I Say I Am - Identity and Rights Management - Managing The User - OT Cybersecurity - Subscription Economy — Consuming Cloud Services - Working with O365.
The Auditorium section of the virtual conference will host the Keynote that kicks of activities at 9 am, as well as a virtual expo floor where Renaissance partners will be exhibiting 10-minute overviews of their solutions throughout the day. These are pre-recorded and will be available on-demand between 9.30 am and 3 pm. After that, the Auditorium will play host to a General Trade Forum discussion led by Renaissance MD Michael Conway.
To deliver the opening keynote speech, we are delighted to welcome Paul C. Dwyer, the CEO of Cyber Risk International.
From 9.30 am to 3 pm, the conference rooms will each host three sessions covering one of the nine conference streams. This means that there will be a choice of three sessions to attend in each two-hour slot as shown in the schedule grid below.
In addition to the General Trade Forum in the Auditorium at 3 pm, there will also be a Specialist Trade Forum on Identity, OT & App security led by Renaissance Enterprise Account Director Ian O’Callaghan, as well as a Managed Service Provider Trade Forum led by Rowan Fogarty the COO of VigiTrust. The conference and expo will wrap up at 4.30 pm.
The Subscription Economy - Consuming Cloud Services Stream
As a taster of what to expect from the nine conference streams, in this post and follow-ups, we will give an overview of each. Starting with the Subscription Economy - Consuming Cloud Services stream.
More and more IT services are being offered as subscriptions, and increasingly as services delivered from the cloud. This model has many benefits for both IT solution providers and for organisations that are consuming them. These include predictable costs for organisations and income streams for providers. Flexibility and elasticity to grow and shrink provision based on demand. Rapid deployment without having to manage multiple procurement processes, and the offloading of system admin and upgrades to the service provider.
The Subscription Economy - Consuming Cloud Services stream will run in the 11.15 am to 1.15 pm slot of Conference 3. The session will be facilitated by Emmet Ryan, the Connected Editor of the Business Post. Joining Emmet will be subject matter experts from BitDefender, CyGlass, WatchGuard, and Webroot. All will present information on deploying and procuring subscription and cloud-based services and will participate in a general Q&A on this topic. Have you ever had any burning questions around the subscription and cloud services delivery model? This is the perfect opportunity to raise it and get some expert industry feedback.
